The grand dame of skincare

Its been over two years since I wrote this review for Estee Lauder & Im still using Advanced Night Repair & loving it.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair is not only the worlds very first skin serum, but it is also one of the best you can use. Launched way back in 1982, It comes in an iconic brown bottle that you would recognize anywhere & has a strong cult following. I remember in the 80′s when I had my first job teaching makeup at a model agency, several of the older women who worked with me (I say older but they would have been 40ish as I was only 18!) had recently spent what was considered alot of money at the time, on Night Repair. To me it looked like magic in a bottle, particularly when it was accompanied by sleeping images of beautiful model Willow Bay who was Estee Lauders spokes model during that era.

Cut to 2018 & the worlds first serum is still going strong- so well in fact that there are approximately eight bottles sold every minute around the world! of course the formula is more advanced than it was back in the 80′s, delivering continuous hydration via that wonder-ingredient, Hyaluronic acid. I have come to realize that any product containing H.A seems to work miracles on my skin, so when I received my very own bottle of Advanced Night Repair three weeks ago I couldnt wait to try it. 

Because Night Repair is designed to work while you are asleep, its wise to apply it to a freshly cleansed face after your shower or bath at the end of the day. It comes with a big apothecary style dropper, which means you dont wast any of the precious serum. I have been used three or four drops on each cheek & then gently smoothing it over the rest of my face (& down my neck if Im feeling generous!) It feels incredibly comfortable on the skin & is instantly absorbed leaving no trace of residue. It has no perfume -hence no allergic reaction for me which Im thrilled about as I can REALLY notice a difference in my skin after three weeks of use. It somehow looks more ‘plump’ in the mornings & feels smooth & hydrated. Im not sure if Im imagining it but I swear some of my red veins have diminished… I just look at that small brown bottle on my bathroom shelf & it makes me smile to think that now, after all these years I have finally discovered Night Repair & Im loving it!
